A GOOD HELLO STARTS WITH CLEAR ANSWERS.
Your pages. Your call.
Here’s what the Free beta keeps, shares and makes public.
Updated October 17, 2026.
What you share with April
We keep your signed-in account identifier and email, book details, purchase link, approved author questions and answers, and the text extracted from your upload. Share your manuscript, or just the part you’re comfortable using. Only upload material you own or have permission to use.
What stays private
Your uploaded manuscript text and private setup previews are available through your signed-in workspace. Readers don’t receive the full manuscript file. Custom logos selected in the design preview stay in your browser; the current Free beta does not upload or publish them.
What readers can see
Publishing creates a public widget with your book title, author name, introduction, purchase link and approved author answers. Anyone with its link can open it. Book answers use the opening portion of the text you shared. Check the introduction and answers before choosing Publish.
Saving a draft does not change an existing published introduction. Publish your latest changes when they’re ready for readers.
How answers are made
For book questions, selected passages and book details are sent to OpenAI through Hello, April’s API account. Approved author answers are returned from the answers you saved. A ChatGPT sign-in identifies your account; this integration does not read your ChatGPT conversations or spend your ChatGPT plan allowance.
Usage and service records
We keep request counts, timing, outcomes and reported token usage to enforce allowances and understand service use. Reader limits also use a hashed network identifier. People sharing a network may share a short-term limit. Hosting and AI providers process requests needed to operate the service.
Removing your book
Remove this book in Your account deletes the book’s manuscript text and published widget from active app storage. Usage counts remain and aren’t reset by deleting a book. Provider records may follow the relevant provider’s retention rules. Contact Adam for account-data questions.
