A GOOD HELLO STARTS WITH CLEAR ANSWERS.
A little help. A good hello.
The Free beta, without the tiny-print treasure hunt.
Where do I start?
Open your workspace and continue with ChatGPT. Upload a TXT, DOCX or text-based PDF up to 5 MB, add your book details and purchase link, and complete at least three author questions and answers. Then try a conversation.
A ChatGPT account is required for this beta. Google and email signup are planned for a later release. You don’t need to create an API key or enter a payment card.
Does this spend my ChatGPT allowance?
No. ChatGPT handles sign-in here. Hello, April uses its own API account for book answers. Your Hello, April allowances are separate from your ChatGPT plan.
What does Free include?
One book, a standard website widget, 25 private setup preview requests each month and a separate 25 reader requests each week. Reader requests are shared across your readers, not 25 per reader. Approved author-answer requests and failed attempts count toward the relevant allowance.
Reader requests reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Private setup previews reset on the first of the month at 00:00 UTC. Short-term and overall service limits also apply. The beta may change as we learn from live testing.
What happens at the reader limit?
The widget keeps your book details and purchase link visible while conversation choices take a breather. Conversations become available on a new visit or refresh after the allowance resets. Update counts in Your account shows current use; it doesn’t reset anything.
In Your widget, use Active / Limit reached to preview both appearances without consuming requests or pausing your real readers.
How do I put April on my website?
Finish setup, try the conversation, choose Get my widget and approve the public introduction. Copy the embed code into your website’s HTML or embed block. Your widget page also keeps the current embed code handy. Install it once; publish later book updates from your workspace.
Can I replace the manuscript?
Open Setup → Book & author → Manuscript → Replace manuscript. Your author answers and purchase link stay in place. Try the revised conversation, then publish when ready. Existing readers keep the previous published version until you publish the update.
What about custom colors and logos?
Anyone can try them in the design preview. Free uses the standard Hello, April widget. Saving and using a custom look is planned for Go and above when paid plans open. Preview controls do not change the live widget.
Something not behaving?
Email adam@helloapril.ai with the page, what you tried and any error message. A screenshot can help. Please leave passwords, API keys and your full manuscript out of support messages.
